Golden wedding anniversary

June 6th, 2005 | No Comments | Posted in Personal

We made the trek to Melbourne’s outer east yesterday for my aunt and uncle’s 50th wedding anniversary. It was a four-hour drive from Porepunkah through Benalla, Alexandra and Healesville.

It was lovely though to catch up with cousins I hadn’t seen for many years, and I met one particular cousin for the first time! My father was the baby of 12, so the age gap between the oldest and youngest of the next generation varies considerably.

Reflecting on 50 years of marriage; that’s really a wonderful achievement. As my uncle said yesterday: “They only give you 20 years for murder!”
