Did we really lose to Bangladesh?
I’m reeling with shock that Australia lost to Bangladesh last night in the cricket. That’s just absolutely extraordinary.
In a strange way I’m glad it happened. The cricket world has been bagging Bangladesh and Zimbabwe for a couple of years now, without offering any constructive solutions about how to develop the game in those countries and Kenya.
Keith Stackpole wrote a scathing commentary in the Herald-Sun a few weeks ago saying Bangladesh couldn’t beat a Melbourne club team.
There’s a lot of money in cricket, but kids in the poor countries still don’t have proper equipment to develop their skills.
Bangladesh are an ordinary team, but hopefully this historic victory will aid their development.
Funny, but when they lost to Pakistan everyone called for a betting inquiry! Disturbing for Australia, we’ve lost three games already on this tour.
