Mice
We’ve got mice! A few days away seems to have emboldened the nasty creatures, which are now evident throughout the house and outside in my office.
It’s the first time in more than eight years at Porepunkah that we’ve seen rodents. For Juliet it’s brought back bad memories of the mice plague we endured at Ceduna.
We’re not quite at that stage yet, but seeing them in a bedroom is pretty severe. We set a trap last night, wounding two and killing one.
The trap was placed separately in a bedroom, the kitchen and our main living area after the babies went to bed. It took less than five minutes each time to get a nibble.
I’ve heard that rats are common in Melbourne this year and I saw a dead rat on the rail trail recently. Hopefully our problem will be confined to mice and short lived.
