Mount Hotham air crash
There’s a good investigative report in The Age today about the plane crash near Mount Hotham recently. In essence, it confirms the aircraft had no anti-ice equipment and should not have been flying in that weather, which was forecast.
Nobody wants to pre-empt the Coroner’s inquiry, but there must be some nervous aviation officials digging holes to bury their heads in.
The newspaper subtly questions the role of Mount Hotham Airport operators as well. It’s a privately owned and managed airstrip.
