Dental visit not too bad
I had a filling today for the first time in about five years. It’s not that my mouth is a shining wonder of dental excellence, but more that nearly all my back teeth are already filled.
Today’s filling and another in two weeks are repair jobs on old fillings, probably from 20 years ago.
Dentists are younger and prettier than I remember. The English lady who treated me today was also very communicative. Not that I really needed to know how the next drill would sound, but too much information is better than none at all, I suppose.
I must remember to encourage my children to become dentists. At $270 for half an hour, a silver filling, xray and checkup, I reckon it must be a lucrative profession. Plus I doubt if I’ll afford it otherwise in retirement.

Congrats on the visit to the dentist.
The last one I had — about 8 weeks ago — was the first I can remember having in years in which some drilling didn’t take place. I’m either getting a new filling or having an old one replaced.
At this point in my life it is usually a replacement for — as you suggested about your own teeth — most of mine have already been drilled into.
