James the tree climber

James climbed the mandarine tree in our back yard today. He used a bucket to get to the first branch and never looked back. It was in the early evening, so I don’t have a photo.

Most babies and toddlers like climbing. When we lived at Pambula we lost Kathleen once. We only found her by following a trail of plastic toys up the stairs; she was asleep in the spare bedroom.

Dude was a great climber. He disappeared too once, and we only found him because he was wearing red gumboots, which stood out on the top branch of a tree outside the back fence at Seamer Street.

He was at least two then, so James has started early.
