Photo gallery mess-up

I was a clown and tried to install Coppermine Beta 1.41 for my picture gallery. Coppermine is the best web gallery script, in my opinion, but trying a beta is purely at the user’s risk. There is no support and I knew that.

I was smart enough (I thought) to back up my database and photos. As you can probably gather by now, the upgrade didn’t work and the beta test was a flop. I couldn’t see any of my pages or photos.

I reinstalled Coppermine, uploaded the photos and fixed the database. Only problem was that my original backup failed, because I was missing about a third of the photos.

I’m still trying to fix this by uploading original pictures from my hard drive and deleting some. Lesson learnt. Don’t upgrade a script unless you’ve made a full backup and verified it.
