Saints on target for minor premiership

August 13th, 2005 | No Comments

Myrtleford will finish minor premier in the Ovens and Murray League for the first time since 1963 if the Saints can defeat Albury in the final home and away round next week.

That’s a fantastic achievement and a credit to everyone who has worked so hard to turn things around since the end of last year.

I saw the Saints defeat Wangaratta Rovers and the umpires today by 50 points. I mention the umpires because five of the first six Rovers goals came from free kicks.
