Theme change

Just a note to explain the reversion to a previous theme.

I was having some performance trouble with the site and my web host began complaining about CPU strain.

After checking the error log I disabled numerous plugins and decided simplicity was best, for the short term at least.

I claim to have designed this theme myself, although it was based on a free Revolution theme by Brian Gardner.

I was starting to worry Michael, because I wondered where your friendly smiling face had gone. It was so refreshing and welcoming.

I was having trouble getting on to this site for the last few weeks, until the theme change.

Is that what you were referring to by ‘CPU strain’?

Just out of interest, how do I access the archives section of the site, which was quite easy to find with the previous theme?

Adam, something was chewing up system resources on the server, like how one program can consume lots of memory on a computer.

I just had a look at the error log again today and there were still problems with the Flickr widget, so I’ve disabled that, and spam on the guestbook page, so I’ve removed that.

I’ve reinstated an archives link in the sidebar. Personally I use the search box when I need to find something.
