City-centric society

January 4th, 2005 | No Comments

There’s no doubt we live in a city-centric society. The movers and shakers of Australia mostly reside in capital cities and along the eastern beaches. People inland and elsewhere are marginalised.

A bugbear for me is when I come across forms that ask for name and address details. When you get to stating where you live the line invariably reads “Suburb” instead of “Town/suburb”.

I might turn this blog entry into a watchlist. I come across them often, but haven’t bothered recording them before.
