Evolution address book imports
Evolution is my favorite email program and personal information manager in Linux. It looks good and works well.
The only drawback I’ve encountered so far is that it doesn’t easily import data from Outlook. I overcame this obstacle by exporting my Outlook contacts to a CSV file.
I then imported this file into KDE’s Kontact software and exported from there to an LDIF file, which Evolution can recognise.
It sounds a roundabout route, but the whole process only took half an hour, including address book edits. It’s important to edit the CSV file in Excel to delete redundant fields before importing.
