James’ first hair cut

James had his first hair cut today at the age of nearly 23 months. Juliet was reluctant for him to go, because he had some lovely curls, which we knew would be lost forever.

Juliet and I both have straight brown hair. James had lighter wavy hair, which is now straight.

I didn’t take Dude for his first hair cut, so this was an interesting experience.

We went to my hairdresser in Myrtleford. Rosie did the honors with some noticeable trepidation. She told me that first-time toddlers normally scream and try to escape.

James sat on my knee and clung like a creeper vine. His head was buried into my shoulder, so Rosie only had half the target area to work with at any given time.

James though was quiet and well behaved. He didn’t scream, didn’t try to escape and towards the end he took more of an interest in what was happening.

I’m proud of the little bloke!

Rosie gave him a lolly afterwards and said the first hair cut was on the house. She then bagged a few locks for me to give Juliet. Thank you.

We waited until the boys hair was longer than it needed to be before we getting their first haircuts.

The oldest was a screamer/squirmer. The other two may have taken it better as I don’t remember much about theirs.
