Dropping the baton
I missed out on my application to carry the Queen’s Baton for the Commonwealth Games relay.
I’m sure it has nothing to do with my complaint about the application form, which incidentally gained publicity in our regional daily newspaper, the Border Mail.
I’m not griping about being overlooked, but I am disappointed the relay won’t be happening in Porepunkah.
The Olympic Torch Relay ran through here five years ago, but the Commonwealth Games organisers have decided to drive through our town on their way from Myrtleford to Bright. Poor show!
