Hard labor
I’m fairly fit, but today I used muscles that I didn’t know existed and I’ll definitely pull up sore tomorrow.
Our back yard looks like a First World War battlefield thanks to pipes being laid for connection to the new sewerage scheme. The plumbers left it a right mess.
We need to plant grass seed, and because the surface dirt is rocky and hard we had to buy two small truckloads of topsoil.
This was piled up at our back gate for me to shovel into a wheelbarrow and shift manually to the future lawn.
Sixty loads later I think there should be enough to spread before sowing tomorrow. There’s even a little topsoil left over in case I have enough energy remaining to cart it onto the garden for a vegie patch.

Welcome to the real world of Labouring, enjoy a beer at the Punkah after your efforts……….
I go to the gym several times a week. And yet, 60-minutes of running up and down a soccer field with a group of 10-year olds brought forth memories of muscles I’d long forgotten.
Michael, if you’d left it until next week maybe the boys from the council could have given you a hand. (I’m not talking about the CEO though)
