Farewell to Snowy
| We said farewell today to Snowy the Pup. The top photo was taken this morning. The bottom one was taken in August 2004. Snowy will be two on May 25, 2006.
He’s a maltese-schitzu cross. He’s grown up with James and Margaret, who are quite fond of him. He’s never bitten or scratched. He’s not very bright, but smart enough to sleep indoors at night, especially when it’s cold. Kathleen and Dude always wanted a pet. They promised to feed and groom him, take him for walks, etc. Of course that never eventuated. Despite that, Dude was rather sad to see him go. It’s a logistical challenge to transport a dog across a continent. We might have succeeded, but we didn’t think he’d adapt to the climate at Kalgoorlie. Snowy suffers heat stress and we couldn’t envisage him being a house pet for four months a year in a rented property. I told a few people at work that Snowy needed a home. One of my colleagues has taken him for her mother. We delivered Snowy to his new home today. It’s in a rural area near Myrtleford and he’ll have plenty of room to play. We enjoyed having Snowy as part of our lives. |
