Preparing to move
The impending move to Western Australia is starting to sink in. Everything is going smoothly so far, with removal quotes on the way, changes of address and new connections for power and phone.
We’re clearing out as much furniture, possessions and junk as possible, not just to save money, but to accommodate everything at the new home.
We’re fortunate here at Porepunkah to have extra rooms and space for storage. This is the first place I’ve lived in 15 years where I could display all my books, and I’m not carting them across the country to sit in boxes.
It’s sad to sell them though. I cleared 186 to a secondhand dealer this week. Amusingly, he paid more for thick ones than little ones and didn’t care who wrote them.
Juliet will run a garage sale on the holiday weekend later this month.
The first assessment we received from a removal firm thought we should go close to fitting everything into one container and that’s the plan.
