Baby competition

March 3rd, 2007 | No Comments

You don’t often see an ugly baby. They are nearly always cute. As a parent you always believe that your baby is the cutest. When the first child is born you think he or she is the most adorable baby the stork ever delivered.

We entered Kathleen in a baby competition. She would have won but somebody paid the judges more than we did.

The Kalgoorlie Miner started a baby competition today. We invited people who had babies in 2006 to submit a photo for entry in “Goldfields Baby of the Year”. People can vote as many times as they like on authorised coupons and the baby with the most votes will be the winner.

It’s a circulation promotion obviously, but good fun as well. We had more than 100 entries and it took five pages to show the photos. As far as I’m concerned they’re all cute and I’m glad it’s not a subjective judging process.

The thought occurred to me though, with so many entries and multiple chances to vote, we’ll probably need the Electoral Commission to count them.
