Kevin Rudd is coming under some scrutiny, which is a good thing for an aspirational Prime Minister. Was Kevin Rudd in Brian Burke’s circle? Did Kevin Rudd tell the truth about his childhood?

I don’t know the answer to these questions and I don’t know how important they are. I don’t subscribe to the theory that Brian Burke is evil either.

But I do think it’s a good thing that Kevin Rudd is put under the microscope. When Mark Latham came under pressure he was revealed as a violent sarcastic bully who thumped a taxi driver.

I don’t think Rudd is like that but we need to see how he responds to close scrutiny and what he’s like in the heat of action.
