The Spring Festival is being held today in Kalgoorlie. It’s currently 37 degrees and windy. The festival is really just a big fete or market, worth a visit though.
It’s held at Hammond Park, which is one of the nicest venues in Kalgoorlie. There is lots of grass and shade, with a water feature, birds and playground equipment. There was a large crowd already when we arrived at 10am and we were lucky to get a parking space.
Kalgoorlie doesn’t really have seasons. It’s either hot or it isn’t. I still think it’s funny how people here complain about the cold.
The Balzano Barrow Race was held in September a few years ago. Apparently there was some rain and it was a little chilly, ideal conditions for the runners, but the poor volunteers got a bit cold so they moved it to the end of October and now it’s run in +30 degrees.
The picture is of Margaret at Hammond Park this morning. She turns four in December; quite a sassy miss.
