Blog readability test

A lot of people are taking this test for their web sites. Some of them are happy or offended to be shown as pitching their content at a “genius” level.
I’m not surprised that my report has come in at “junior high school” level. Journalists are trained to use simple language.

Michael…I’m certainly not "offended" that my blog registers at a "genius" level. I just find it a bit mysterious. Blogs that I are much harder to read than mine come in at elementary school level. It all seems quite random.
Hi Cammy, try this one: http://juicystudio.com/services/readability.php
The Flesch-Kincaid level is usually a good guide. Mine comes in at 5. I think a lot of it is to do with how long the sentences are.
I came in at Elementary Level. Which is sad as I’d cringe if I thought elementary school children were reading it.
Mine rated as “genius”, which is a problem because it’s mainly about the town of Bright and there are cerainly no geniuses around here. Which means, I suppose, it’s all going over their heads. No wonder I’m so misunderstood!
High-school level for me. There must be some mistake. I am the smartest person I have ever had the pleasure to know. I read the classics for God’s sake!
I hope you are well Michael. If you are wondering who has been visiting your site from Iraq, you are looking at him, or at least looking at his ego-inflate post. Only I am not in Iraq, I’m in Kapan, Armenia, mapping in the mountains. It’s close to Iran, but not Iraq. I don’t know how that works.
Ciao for now.
Yeh, I did wonder about those Iraqi flags and whether I would come under ASIO scrutiny again (long story).
If ever anyone deserved a Mensa blog badge it’s you Michael. I think because swear words are fairly short you qualify for a good statistical reading.
Hey, how about sending us a column for Saturday on election thoughts from Armenia?
I don’t understand how they do it, but I came in at high school. Very interesting!
