Well folks, the packers come tomorrow and all our possessions will be boxed for removal by Tuesday night, including the computer I’m typing on now.
We’ll be living for three days without furniture before hitting the road on Saturday for our 2600km journey to Mount Gambier.
Eagle-eyed observers may have noticed that I’ve already updated my address and personal details on several web sites.
That’s because I’m not sure how much internet access I will have for the next three weeks. Enough probably to post here occasionally, but that’s about all.
We’re driving to Eucla on the first day and Wudinna on the second. Next stop will be Moonta Bay, where we own a house we’ve never seen, but we’re getting a holiday rental (and we’ll look at the house).
We will arrive in Mount Gambier on Thursday, May 29 and our furniture should meet us the next day for unloading.
Then we’re going to Moe in Victoria for a few days to see my parents. Dad has pancreatic cancer, so we’re keen to see him before I start work in the new job.
Erratic updates should continue here until Friday. After that, just wait and see.

Good luck with the move! That’s always a pretty big adventure (and a great way to “declutter” a bit, although I remember movers once carefully packaging up our garbage for transport!).
Glad you can spend some time with your dad; cancer is a tough one. Hoping for the best…

Thanks Heather. I won’t be impressed if our garbage turns up in Mount Gambier.
