I’ve been trying several new web services lately. Here’s a short summary report on three:

Orgoo: More than just a webmail service, Orgoo does provide that and a whole lot more. The interface is very clean and users can add IMAP and POP3 accounts. Contacts can be easily imported.

Other features include instant messaging across multiple accounts, video chat, video mail and SMS (US and Canada only).

It’s still in beta test mode with the promise of more features to come, including a calendar. I have 12 invitations to give away if anyone is interested. Contact me to enquire.

Riffly: A neat WordPress plugin which enables people to leave video and audio comments on web sites. It’s a free service and the files are hosted by Riffly. I tested it here.

Zenbe: A webmail service and personal organiser. Zenbe integrates your email, calendars, contacts and RSS feeds seamlessly.

I like the way it stores files; message attachments can be browsed as a file list. Zenbe is still under development, but offers an attractive new option in a crowded market.

Yac: A British unified messaging service. Register with Yac and you get a free UK phone number.

The number can receive messages, forward them or record them, and receive faxes. The caller pays, but not the Yac member, as far as I can tell.

Calls can even be forwarded overseas, but personally I don’t think that’s fair if the caller believes they are phoning a local UK number, so I have deselected that option.

Anyone who calls me will be able to record a message, which will be forwarded to my email address, similar to mBox, which I use in Australia mainly for faxes.

My Yac number is 070 9226 1686. I don’t expect to use it much, but it could be handy if I’m travelling in Europe and want to forward calls to my mobile.
