Labor of lust

Australian newspapers today carried reports of the American journalist Doug Brown and his wife Annie who had sex for 101 consecutive days.

Here is a link to an American newspaper report.

Interesting story. The couple are the same age as my wife and I. I’m not sure about writing a book on the subject though. It seems to rather cheapen the intimacy.

And I don’t really want to think about what their definition of “sex” was during Annie’s periods. Read the book, is their commercial answer, I guess.

Uh… I don’t think I want to know either. That’s odd that there’s a book about it. Eww. Kinda creepy.

American women are seemingly able to have a period whenever it suits them. It starts in high school, for example if they need to get out of gym class, and continues into dating and marriage … “not now, I’m on my period” … without regard to the calendar.

I’m assuming this power over them can also keep them at bay for extended periods (of time).

I definitely went to the wrong high school. The only thing that got us out of class was a doctor’s excuse.

That said, I wouldn’t be able to lie about that to my husband. I am not sure how or why some women do that.
