Traffic surge to 6561 visitors

Web traffic

I thought there was something wrong today when I checked the Google Analytics stats for The Border Watch website.

I’ve been quite pleased with the site’s traffic growth, but wasn’t expecting today’s surge to more than 6500 unique visitors.

The daily average has been creeping up from 300 towards 400 on weekdays, falling away to just under 200 on weekends.

The spike was courtesy of a site called Coast to Coast AM with George Noory. He linked to the story: Expert confirms big cat reports.

I hadn’t heard of George Noory before, but it seems he he has a popular site dealing with mysteries such as ghosts, bigfoot, UFO sightings and the like.

I noticed a couple of brief database failures today, probably from overload.

A good move now is to discover a “bigfoot” story. That’ll bring ‘em in swarms!
