The do not call register is a farce.

I am on it.

How is it I am getting calls like this morning from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital research dept wanting my donation of no less than $50.00, $100.00, or perhaps I wish to donate $1,000.00?

I protested I could not possibly help with even 50 bucks, because it is too much and I can't afford it.

Again, the lady says that people in Mount Gambier are depending on this research being done and my donation will be "only" $50.00?

Me, really wound up..what part of this don't you get? I have't got any spare 50 bucks, now or in future.

She really did a number on me, I caved in to pressure and pledged my $20.00 donation.

Since this latest request I have attempted to contact the do not call register to be clear about charitable organisations not being able to call me.

However, the register appears to be out of service, or down.

I have even gone to the expense of paying Telstra a $6.00 per month fee, to have a calling number display so that I can personally filter unwelcome callers.
Charity organisations show up, only as Private, on my display so again this is not stopping getting hassled for money.

Maybe, I will leave the country for some R&R, yeah joke...can't afford to!
