Valley Lake, Mount Gambier
Valley Lake is something of a hidden gem at Mount Gambier. I’m not sure if tourists know it exists unless they study their brochures.

The magnificent Blue Lake is well known and highly visible, but the other lakes are a little off the radar.

We’ve lived here for four months, but this weekend was the first time I had been to Leg of Mutton Lake and today Valley Lake.

While not as spectacular to look at (as Blue Lake), Valley Lake is scenic and there is much to offer, especially for families.

There is a large well-equipped playground, grassy areas, barbecues, a cricket net and of course, the lake.

Dogs aren’t allowed in the playground and must be kept on a leash outside. I took Sooty for a walk while Jim and Maggie played.

The lake is in a crater, surrounded by hills. The photo above was taken from Potters Point looking down. These pictures were taken at ground level:
