Vodafone mobile wireless broadband

October 10th, 2008 | No Comments

I have a mobile wireless broadband account with Vodafone. I opened it in Kalgoorlie, mainly for the kids to access the internet from their computer, and for me to use when travelling.

It offers 3G speed in areas with access to the Vodafone network, but only dial-up elsewhere, including Mount Gambier unfortunately.

Vodafone is meant to be expanding its network at the end of this year.

I have found the speed slower than dial-up. It’s a few years since I did not have broadband, but I don’t remember waiting several minutes for a page to load or for a text email to transmit.

Anyhow, the statements for the account keep getting sent to our former Kalgoorlie address. Every few months they kindly forward a batch of letters on to us.

I have visited the Vodafone website to change address. They require a mobile number, which I don’t have. I entered the wireleless broadband number and it wasn’t recognised.

I rang Vodafone customer service to change the address and they said I have to do it online!
