I was a judge today of the Mount Gambier Christmas Parade. Actually, I was the apprentice judge, considering this was my first effort.
The day started with morning tea and a civic reception at the Town Hall. There we met the police superintendent’s wife, who provides a refuge service for orphaned native animals.
She was nursing a baby wallaby. I think he was found in the pouch of his mother after she was hit by a car.
The kids loved patting and holding him. Later they saw baby possums as well.
