Causeway Lake
Causeway Lake is a tidal estuary between Yeppoon and Emu Park, about 7km from where we are staying at Lammermoor.
We visited today and hired some water craft.
We started with two pedal boats, boys in one and girls in the other.
The lake is calm and easy to get around. The murky water doesn’t look great for swimming, but the fishing is apparently terrific.
After the pedal boats Kathleen and Michael went kayaking while Jim and Maggie enjoyed playing with mini canoes in knee-deep water.
Jim looked a natural, as though he was born to it. He said later that he had seen canoeing on a cartoon program, which just goes to show that television is educative.
After a good time at the lake we went swimming at Kemp Beach.
Just two full days to go and we have to return home.
