Fun4Kids Festival

We went to the Fun4Kids Festival at Warrnambool today after James won a ticket prize. A family pass for one day isn’t cheap, more than $100.

We had never been before and I’ve never experienced anything like it. Our overall impression was very positive.

It’s not like a theme park or a show with rides and sideshows. It’s partly educational and mostly fun with a mix of activities and entertainment.

I’d say it’s ideally suited for children aged between 5 and 8, although 4-10 will get something out of it (officially it’s 2-12).

Maggie and Jim did sword fighting, sand play, rock wall climbing, face painting, edible art, woodwork and painting. They saw musical and theatrical performances, science displays and a farm nursery.

The entry cost includes all entertainment and activities; only food and drink is extra.

There was plenty of free water though and lots of places for kids to wash their hands and beat the flu bug.

It was the first time we’d been anywhere for a major outing without either Kathleen or Michael.

The festival runs from today to July 5.
