I also visited the dentist last week. I was dreading it in a big way, I just knew I was in for some work and nearly fell on the floor when I was given an estimated quote.
I have agreed to have fillings, these are at a cost of $400.00. With the rest of the follow up appointments to complete essential dental work, another $800-$1,000.
Consequently I am on the prowl for a filthy rich elderly gent who has a terminal illness, and whose pace-maker gives up immediately the wedding and will readings are over.
My appointment was for 1pm on Friday. I was in the chair by 1.05pm and back at work by 1.30pm. The filling cost $196 and private health insurance paid for about half of it.
Did you tough it out? or did you have a local…and a fat lip?
My dentist did a bit of a deal with me. If I can sit in the chair for long enough it will cut down on the expense of charging for extra appointments.
Me being a pussy and not into heroic medicine I fancy my fat lip will hang on for ages, because I need to not feel pain (big needle fan as long as I don’t think).
I guess I will look stupid too, trying to negotiate my numb mouth around fluids, so will be giving the coffee revival plan in public, a big miss.
I see I have just mentioned coffee…I worked the night shift last night and my brain has gone into heavy duty sleep deprivation malfunction; the coffee? think it’s a bad idea. Will settle for a cup of tea and a long life battery.
I always take the local. The tooth was top, back left, so the numbness didn’t affect my lip. I had a twitchy eye for several hours though.
