Rail trail resealing

April 21st, 2005 | No Comments

I heard some good news today about the rail trail resealing in Porepunkah. I had been concerned the sewerage scheme construction would interfere with this necessary project.

The shire’s media release wasn’t clear on this point, so I rang the technical services manager for clarification.

He says the contractors will finish all the work they can next week, except for the 100-metre section out the front of our house, where North East Water is currently digging.

Council will place asphalt over this remaining section after the sewerage scheme is completed. North East Water will contribute towards the cost and the appearance should not be compromised.

That sounds good. Don’t know why they couldn’t have explained this earlier?
