I installed an extra phone line today for the internet. A year or so ago we cut back to one line, thinking our mobiles would be sufficient for long distance calls and for people to contact us.

People don’t like phoning mobiles though, quite understandably considering the cost. I have the internet connected most of the time I’m at home, so many calls were not getting through.

With the Alpine Web hosting business about to take off I felt an extra line was needed.

Surprisingly, the line was connected within four hours of me asking for it (it was really the reconnection of an old line). Mind you, I spent an hour on the phone to Primus getting it done.
