Web site tweaks
I spent a fair bit of time on the weekend experimenting with some new scripts and adapting them to my web sites.
I wasn’t all that thrilled with the inbuilt search engine that comes with Word Press, as it showed the full entries, rather than an extract. I’m now using Sphider, which has a very neat appearance, works quickly and accurately. Check it out in the right-hand sidebar.
I’m in the process of setting up a North East Directory. As part of that service I’ve included a link popularity checker. Just a gimic really, but useful in its own way.
I’ve also set up a print-friendly option for articles in this blog. It’s visible if you open the link to an individual item.
