First gymnastics competition

Maggie at Gym West

Maggie started gymnastics at Gym West in Henley Beach a few weeks ago. She adapted well and was quickly elevated to an advanced class. Last weekend she entered her first competitive event, aged 7. I’ve never really been into watching gymnastics, but it looks great from a participant’s point of view and I think it will do wonders for Maggie’s confidence. It’s remarkable that young children can perform on the beam without fear and fling themselves around on the bars.

We visited the Art Gallery of South Australia today. The twins were well behaved and seemed interested in the art. They particularly liked this stuffed puma by Belgian artist Koen Wastijn. We also visited the museum and the 19th century Destitute Asylum which was a disturbing place.

Maggie’s first sleepover

Maggie went to a friend’s birthday party this afternoon. Jim went as well, because it was mostly school friends from Suttontown who were invited. Maggie’s dancing concert

Maggie will be five years old next week (Jim too). She’s been attending dance lessons for two years! Her second concert performance was held last night at the Sir Robert Helpmann Theatre.
