I don’t like those addictive little news tickers they run across the screen during breakfast television. They tease and irritate. One that caught my eye this morning said: “Man allegedly arrested in Perth on terrorist charges”. The word “allegedly” here is misplaced. The man was arrested on terrorist charges, or an alleged terrorist was arrested. [...]
