Fascinating adoption story

Rod Marsh

The SBS program on Rod Marsh’s intriguing family history was great viewing. Marsh’s father was adopted, but Rod never knew why until recently. He discovered his biological grandparents through archival searches and conversations with cousins. His grandmother divorced her husband after WW1 to live with Rod’s grandfather and then died giving birth. His grandfather put their three children up for adoption and reunited with his wife. Rod’s adopted grandparents were equally intriguing.

Adventure Island

My favorite show when I was a child was Adventure Island. It screened from 1967-72 and was repeated on ABC television from 1973-76. I’m surprised it didn’t have a longer life given its creativity and entertainment value. In many respects it was probably ahead of its time. Tweet Pin It
