Phone call from the BBC

The phone rang at 4am last night. It disturbed my slumber, but no way was I getting up to answer it.

Juliet thought it might have been a call from South Africa, so picked up the phone and found it to be a researcher from BBC World Service in London. The researcher also left a message on my mobile and sent me an email.

She wants me to participate next week in a book club program with Wilbur Smith.

She’d read my web pages and would like me to ask the author a question.

That’s fine; it’ll be rather interesting. But as Juliet said, when it comes to calling people across the globe, you’d think a researcher with the BBC World Service would be smart enough to know there are different time zones!
