Dorothy the Dinosaur

Dorothy the DinosaurI took the twins to see Dorothy the Dinosaur’s Dance Party today at the Kalgoorlie Town Hall.

They didn’t actually get into it as much as I’d expected.

The organisers wisely limit the show to about one hour, which is about the attention span for the target audience of three-year-olds and parents.

Dorothy is a “rososaurus”, a “yellow-spotted herbivorous green dinosaur with surprisingly scary teeth”. She lives in a pink and purple house with her own Rosy Orchestra and a rose garden in her backyard. She loves to eat roses and dance the ballet. She enjoys serving guests rose-derived treats such as “rosy tea”.

I tried taking some photos of the theatrical extravaganza, but the flash didn’t kick in as far as the stage.

Perhaps I should have asked Jim for some tips. When I went to download the pictures I discovered there were 98 of them on the memory disk, of which I could only account for a dozen.

I caught Jim (3) playing with the camera last week.

It seems he actually figured out how to take photos, including one of his sister Maggie, complete with incriminating evidence that Maggie was playing with my mobile phone!
