Gorey domain email

As mentioned in the previous post, I now own and use the www.gorey.me domain. I currently have a photo gallery hosted there and I’m using it for personalised Windows email.

Windows email for own domain

Windows Mail can be easily set up for your own domain and looks great with the new Outlook interface.

I’ve been really impressed with the new web-based Outlook mail. It’s a great improvement on Hotmail, which I never really used, although I have a dormant @live.com email address.

I’ve now created the email address michael@gorey.me linked to Windows services including Skydrive. It uses the new Outlook mail interface.

This is similar to Google Apps. Indeed, my email for gorey.com.au is channelled through Google.

I just think it’s smart to have a foot in both camps. Microsoft is late to this field and has previously delivered poorer quality, but I sense the monolith has awakened and is starting to get its act together.

Windows 8 promises much greater integration between PC, tablet and mobile phone. It would be silly, in my view, not to have a Windows account and it may as well use your own domain if you have one.

I can create up to 500 @gorey.me email accounts. If anyone would like one, or @gorey.com.au please let me know.
