The only thing that got us out of class was a doctor's excuse. That said, I wouldn't be able to lie about that to my husband. I am not sure how or why some women do that. It starts in high school, for example if they need to get out of gym class, and continues into dating and marriage ... "not now, I'm on my period" ... without regard to the calendar.
