Talented Canadian musician

Michael Gorey musicianI came across a talented Canadian musician online tonight. He is very versatile, capable of playing maritime (Celtic influence), folk, jazz, rock and blues.

He will be releasing a CD soon and I look forward to obtaining a copy.

The musician is Michael Gorey.

According to his profile, my possible relative’s interest in music began at an early age. Saturday morning lessons at the Gaelic College gave him an appreciation of his Celtic and Maritime roots.

He went on to study guitar with James MacDonald of North Sydney, and later minored in music at St Francis Xavier University.

“Michael moved to Neil’s Harbour, Cape Breton, and began to gather gear to start his own small studio from his home. Michael’s aim is to record smaller acoustic acts, singer/songwriters, and to produce professional demos and CD quality recordings in a relaxed atmosphere along the beautiful Cabot Trail, at a price that artists won’t find at big city studios.”

Good luck to Michael Gorey!

The song Evening Train (below) has a Traveling Wilburys feel to it. If Michael reads this and would like me to upload better-quality audio, please let me know,.
