More pictures of Mile End

Train at Mile End

I took a few more photos around Mile End this afternoon and added them to the Flickr set featured here.

The railway station is about 400 metres from my place. I hear the freight trains go through at night.

For suburban trains, Mile End is on the Belair, Noarlunga and Tonsley lines. It is the nearest stop to Adelaide, just two kilometres away. Trains run express through Mile End at night and on weekends.

I might get the train home occasionally when I’m working at Parliament, which is close to the main Adelaide station.

The other picture below is of Temple Christian College, viewed from the Parklands.

Adelaide Wine Cellars

According to its website, the college is a Year 7—12+, non-denominational, Christian, co-educational school.

The distinctive building was formerly Adelaide Wine Cellars, where South Australia’s pioneer winemaker Thomas Hardy had his bottling and wine production plant for 90 years from 1893 to 1983.
