Cracked heels and heel balm

I occasionally suffer from cracked heels. The last time was several years ago when I ramped up my walking to improve fitness.

It’s similar this time. I’ve been taking a half-hour walk every day so far this year, in addition to my usual treks across the city with work.

The weather has also been very dry and, more recently, quite hot as well.

When I was first taught to write with a pen at primary school it was using a cartridge pen.

This thought came to me today when I heard that Maggie is due to get her “pen licence” this year when she starts Year three in a few weeks.

I think I was in grade three when they gave us cartridge pens, but it may have been later.

Yesterday I visited the South Australian Aquatic Sciences Centre at West Beach where significant research is undertaken to ensure the sustainable growth of the state’s aquaculture industries.

Core skills include aquaculture nutrition, genetics and propagation, micro-algal production, marine and freshwater ecological research, environmental assessment, oceanography, aquatic biosecurity and fisheries biology, assessment and modelling.
