Thebarton Aquatic Centre

Thebarton Aquatic Centre

I’ve taken the kids to Thebarton Aquatic Centre the past two weekends. Michael uses the hydrotherapy pool to rehabilitate his fractured ankle.

He’s out of the cast now and should lose the moon boot in a couple of weeks.

The twins like the pool for water play. There’s a small learners’ pool, 10 metres long and 85 centimetres deep, warmed to 32 degrees.

The main pool is 25 metres long and a bit deeper and cooler.

Today there was an inflatable bouncy thing set up there, called “wet and wild”. Basically the kids just throw themselves along a plastic obstacle course before sliding into the water.

Entry was $10 each to use the inflatable play area, otherwise it’s just $5.80 for kids or $20 for a family. Lap swimmers take over the main pool most of the time, but the learners’ pool is always available for kids.

Thebarton Aquatic Centre is home of the Henley and Grange Swimming Club. According to Google Maps it is 2.1km from where I’m now living.
